PDFN Precipitation Viewer

This application displays daily and aggregated precipitation from the PDFN archive covering 2015-01-01 through 2025-10-31.

  • Daily: select one date.
  • Aggregated: calculate Average, Maximum, or Total Sum for a date range.
  • AOI Analysis: select a state, subdivision, county, place, drawn polygon/rectangle, GeoJSON, or zipped shapefile; then view 12 monthly bars and 5 weekly bins.
  • When an AOI exists, precipitation display is clipped to that AOI.
  • Downloads are generated by the scientific server as GeoTIFF, CSV, NetCDF, or Excel.
With no AOI, the map uses the fast daily tile endpoint. If an AOI exists, the scientific server creates one clipped cached raster and the tile server displays that result.
Aggregation is calculated on port 8094. The browser does not download and aggregate individual TIFF files.
An AOI is required. Monthly analysis always renders exactly 12 month bars. Click a month to display that month's accumulated AOI precipitation and open the weekly chart.
